Incredible sequel to Kirby Air Ride, which is a game I never thought would get one. It has game modes for everyone, plays smoothly, looks great on the eyes, has insane customization, and it’s easy to learn, difficult to master. If you have anyone to play with, this is one of the best party games you could get. Otherwise, I honestly still think it’s worth it even for the single player experience, especially if you have an NSO subscription. Being able to just play an online game of City Trial or two (a battle royale game mode, essentially) whenever you want is such a great experience, and it even plays incredibly well considering it’s on NSO. There’s a reason everyone thinks Sakurai and his team are geniuses, and I can’t wait for their next game (crossed fingers for Kid Icarus Uprising 2).

Pros:🌠 Fun, chaotic, great for any age!🌠 Easy controls, no forward tilt to drive. The tutorial is in-depth, so you’ll learn all the mechanics within 15-30 minutes.🌠 Single-player mode called Road Trip (choose your difficulty), different paths, different mini games, boss fights, and story progression. Even if friends can’t play with you, or you don’t want to play online… This solo mode is full of unique experiences, and you can avoid boredom by choosing between 3 options to progress in the game🌠 Amiibo compatibility (train your amiibo), unlockables, achievements (I think there’s over 500… feels reminiscent of smash bros lol)🌠 Customization of your driver (accessories, hats, color variants) and vehicles (once unlocked), and you can even see the handiwork of players around the world! Buy and use the ones you like, or customize your own vehicle.🌠 All 18 tracks are beautifully designed, half full of nostalgia, and half are completely new! Courses almost feel like a dynamic theme park ride with flying and high-energy song tracks!🌠Competitive mechanics allow you to get ahead of the game or try online and drown in the chaos. Online has ranked, challenges, and a whopping 32 player capacity per lobby.🌠 Play as familiar characters across the Kirby universe, including RICK!! Guest appearances from other games, as well as timeless classics from older games.Cons:❌ Learning curve for new players is a bit of a problem. Although I consider the controls “easy,” there are mechanics essential to racing. It might be time-consuming to play locally with new friends who are completely new to the game. The alternative is to just throw them in with no explanation, as it is chaotic anyway❌ Adventure mode items/power-ups have no explanation or legend. You’re kind of just rolling with it, or you need to look it up ahead of time❌ Not for kids who are prone to overstimulation, it’s CHAOTIC, and certain children might find this game too overwhelming❌ In the food modes… There are photo-realistic images of real-life food instead of “dishes” from other Kirby games. Just why…? I’m crying inside. Food across Kirby games looks cute, whimsical, and familiar. But the food in this game… 👎❌ Not a fair comparison, but when compared to Mario Kart… The universe of Dreamworld pales in comparison. The variety of stages, characters, and familiar elements feels limited at this time. I hope it can be expanded in update DLCs to add more stages/other well-loved characters like Kine, Adelaide, and newer antagonists from Forgotten Land!❌ Seriously, who thought Cappy was a good idea as a playable character?

Wonderful. Absolutely nothing like it. Only little downside is that the game requires a lot of play to unlock characters and vehicles. Challenging but one can still get first place by playing a couple hours per day. That makes the game even better.Addictive plus online play…. Sweet

If you’ve been waiting for Kirby to finally return to high-speed racing, Kirby Air Riders on the Switch 2 is absolutely worth. This version feels like everything fans loved plus modern upgrades that make it even more addicting.Gameplay:The controls are smooth and super responsive on the Switch 2. Flight and drifting feel better than ever, and each machine has a real personality. Beginners can pick it up easily, but there’s enough depth for competitive players too. The new Boost Glide mechanic is insanely satisfying once you learn it.Graphics & Performance:This game looks beautiful. The colors pop, the worlds feel alive, and the frame rate stays buttery smooth even with tons of action on the screen. Kirby games always look good, but this is easily one of the best-looking ones on the Switch 2.Modes & Content:There’s a ton to do. Classic Race Mode, Battle City, Time Trials, and the new Co-Op Challenge Mode make this feel like more than just a racing game. The online matchmaking is fast, and the local multiplayer is perfect for parties or playing with the kids.Fun Factor:Honestly, this game is pure joy. It has that classic “just one more race” feeling, whether you’re unlocking new Air Riders or trying to beat your best times. It’s one of those rare games that’s great for both casual players and serious competitors.Final Verdict:If you own a Switch 2, this is a must-have. Fun, polished, nostalgic without feeling outdated, and packed with replay value. An easy 5/5.
