Awesome game, misleading box.
well, the game itself is awesome! I’m having a hard time putting my Switch 2 down since I got this game!.My problem is with it’s box. The game is a Hong Kong import, and it shows on the box with Chinese language all over. When I put it along with my other games, it stands out but for all the wrong reasons.

Great game, delivered well
Only issue is I got the Hong Kong version so the box is in Mandrin which is annoying to look at in the collection. As for the product itself Nintendo does not region locked so works as expected.

I have been gaming for 30 years and I have never played a platformer this fun and addicting. Generally people say Mario Galaxy, Mario Odyssey, and Astro Bot are the best, and I am happy to say this is better than all of them. You explore various maps looking for crystal banana’s, similar to Mario games where you look for stars, shine sprites, and moons. Instead of jumping around to solve puzzles, you can smash essentially any object in this game and that opens up a whole new world in terms of exploration and gameplay.DK is a beast and you can smash through stone, dirt, sand, wood, and so much more. The world is yours to explore and to destroy. While tearing through the land, you will discover hidden paths and loot that you will be addicted to finding. Its like they took the best of everything Mario and threw in some Zelda and DK Country love to make the perfect platforming game. You can climb almost any surface and pick up chunks of the ground to smash things with it or even turf surf with it. There is even some transformations that allow you to smash more, run faster, and even fly. This is freedom on another level from Nintendo.Visuals and sound are great. Majority of time the game runs 60fps but it will hit occasional drops, but not often. The worst is when you look at the map for some reason. Its real time and shows all of your destruction in a 3D model so I get that it can be taxing but it tanks the FPS to 30 for sure. You will not be in the map much, so I wouldn’t sweat it. Visually the maps are all distinct and look great. You get real 90’s Rare vibes from it all and old and new fans will appreciate it. Graphics are really great but Nintendo using FSR 1, which is old tech at this point is kind of silly. The Switch 2 can use a DLSS which would have been optimal for this game. Lastly, the sound effects are great and the music is good. Is it DK country good? No, but the music fits this game well.I have played Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2, and various other games this year and DK is better than all of them. This is my Game of the Year and if Nintendo can top this on the Switch 2, then we may be in for the best Nintendo console generation ever. 10 out of 10 for me.

I picked up Donkey Kong Bananza for my Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s been an absolute blast from start to finish! The game feels like a perfect mix of classic Donkey Kong charm and modern platforming brilliance. The levels are colorful, creative, and packed with secrets that keep me coming back for more. The new Bananza mechanic (collecting special bananas that unlock crazy power-ups) adds a fresh twist to the gameplay. It’s super satisfying to chain combos, swing through vines, and smash barrels with that iconic DK flair. The graphics look gorgeous in 4K on the Switch 2, and the loading times are lightning-fast—there’s no waiting around, just straight into the action. The soundtrack is another highlight—it’s catchy, nostalgic, and perfectly fits the upbeat energy of the game. Whether you’re playing solo or in co-op, Bananza is pure fun and a must-have for any Donkey Kong fan.Highly recommend this one—it’s easily one of the standout titles on the Switch 2 library so far!

Have been having a lot of fun playing and exploring Donkey Kong Bananza. Not the most challenging game (and not nearly as hard as the old Donkey Kong countries) but it is an absolute joy running around and punching things. The mechanics are fun and all the different Banazas add great elements to play. Fun puzzles, nothing too hard.Hits on the nostalgia factor a lot, but is a brand new game. Also nice that it can be played in little bite size moments, with an infant around, it’s nice to be able to play and put it down if needed. Can play for longer stretches, but also good to play during short naps or bouncing sessions.

Donkey Kong Bananza for Switch 2 is hands-down one of the most unexpectedly delightful games I’ve picked up this year. From the moment I booted it up, I was hooked by its colorful visuals, quirky soundtrack, and hilarious cutscenes. The gameplay blends platforming, light puzzle-solving, and wild bonus challenges—like barrel races and banana-catching frenzies—into one joyful ride. The controls are super intuitive, making it easy to dive in whether you’re new to gaming or a seasoned fan. Even the motion controls feel snappy and precise, which is a big win in my book. What really makes this game shine is its sheer replay ability. Unlockable costumes and side quests keep you coming back. Whether you’re aiming for high scores in jungle jump-offs or just vibing with the wacky characters, it’s ridiculously addictive. I planned to play for 20 minutes and ended up logging two hours without noticing. If you’re on the fence, go for it—you won’t regret joining the Bananza!
